Disable SQL Query Optimization
Choose your installation type. These steps change the Query Optimization setting and then restart or recreate the Releem Agent.
- Linux
- Docker
- AWS RDS
- GCP Cloud SQL
- Azure MySQL
- Windows
- Edit the Releem Agent configuration file:
nano /opt/releem/releem.conf
- Change the setting:
query_optimization=false
- Restart the agent:
systemctl restart releem-agent
Recreate the container with query optimization disabled:
docker rm -f releem-agent
docker run -d --name releem-agent \
-e RELEEM_QUERY_OPTIMIZATION=false \
... \
releem/releem-agent:[version]
For Docker Compose, set:
environment:
RELEEM_QUERY_OPTIMIZATION: false
Then recreate the service:
docker compose up -d
If the agent is managed by CloudFormation, update the releem-agent stack and set QueryOptimization to false.
If the agent runs on EC2, set query_optimization=false in /opt/releem/releem.conf and restart the agent:
systemctl restart releem-agent
Set query_optimization=false in the agent configuration or recreate the Docker container with RELEEM_QUERY_OPTIMIZATION=false, then restart the agent.
Set query_optimization=false in the agent configuration or recreate the Docker container with RELEEM_QUERY_OPTIMIZATION=false, then restart the agent.
Set query_optimization=false in C:\ProgramData\ReleemAgent\releem.conf, then restart the Releem Agent Windows service.
Verify the change
Confirm that the Releem Agent service or container is running after the restart or recreation. Then verify that the active configuration uses query_optimization=false, RELEEM_QUERY_OPTIMIZATION=false, or QueryOptimization set to false, depending on your installation type.
This procedure does not establish whether disabling Query Optimization deletes previously collected query data or revokes database permissions. Do not assume that either action occurs. Review database access separately, and contact Releem support if you need a data-retention or access-removal procedure.
